Baby eagles grow really fast. Ten days after hatching the eagle begins flying. 40 percent of baby eagles die when they try to fly. Ten to fifteen weeks after the babies hatch they leave the nest and begin their new life away from home. Bald Eagles can fly up to 30 miles an hour, and live to be about 30 years old.
